Paradise (Scarring)

Digital animation (ongoing)

James Baldwin noted that “some people wish to colonize the moon, [while] others dance before it as an ancient friend.”

Scarring plays out the logic of capital, which asks: How much planetary scarring is worth it to ensure our survival? Taken further: If you don’t have scars, are you even living?

An industrial disaster unfolds endlessly on loop, in an attempt to prompt the view, What is living if we, water, and land are too poisoned to dance?
